The Dieting Mistakes
It’s not all about what not to eat while dieting – failure can come in a number of forms. For example do you ever relax when you are eating? Rushing through each meal is not going to help your diet at all. We have hectic lifestyles – I get that! But if we do not give ourselves enough time to consume our food properly then overeating is a real possibility.
Take your time with your food and let your body register that you are full correctly. If you ram your food down you always think you are still hungry when in fact your stomach is actually full!.
Another question – are you still eating three meals a day? Skipping meals is NOT dieting – it stands against everything that dieting is in fact! There is a misconception that skipping breakfast or any meal, saves calories. If you do this you will end up consuming MORE calories in a daily period than the individual that eats three healthy meals!
So eat slowly and do not skip any of your meals – this is the correct starting point for any diet. Now back to the subject in hand – what not to eat while dieting….
Figuring Out What Not to Eat While Dieting
Soda or Fizzy Drinks – Please stop drinking all types of soda as soon as possible. By ‘all types of soda’ I mean the diet versions as well! Replace these sickly drinks with water – drink at least seven glasses a day.
Alcohol – I know most of you were dreading hearing this but I’m afraid if you are serious about losing a lot of weight then alcohol is going to have to go! Alcohol is basically the refined juice of natural foods which makes it a liquid of pure concentrated sugar – imagine how much weight gain this will cause!
White Bread – I know, I Know – something else you really didn’t want to face up to! In most kitchens across the land you will find a slab of white bread – but why? White bread has basically zero nutritional value which means it cannot keep you full for long! Always try to replace white bread with wholegrain or wholewheat bread – there is a great deal of difference between brown and white!
Fried Food – When looking into what not to eat while dieting you would think most people come across this first – not so for some reason! I think it’s more likely down to the fact that people just don’t want to recognize the fact that fried foods really are that bad. It’s not just your stomach line – fried food can cause really painful digestion situations and it’s not the best for your heart either. This is one of the key points when deciding what not to eat while dieting – please leave fried foods behind!
Salad Dressings – This is one of the foods that seems to slip under the radar when it comes to dieting. Salad dressings that are the creamy based type are no good for your bulge whatsoever! Although these sorts of dressings add a lot of extra flavor to salads and can make a meal more enjoyable, it’s important to remember what they contain. Fat, fat and more fat again! Deciding what not to eat while dieting can become very difficult when even salads turn into the enemy. Why not try creating your own healthy dressing out of balsamic vinegar and a little olive oil – much healthier and diet friendly!
White Rice – This is another shocker really isn’t it? White rice! No way! I’m afraid so ladies and gentlemen. When creating a list of what not to eat while dieting please include white rice in the top half! White bread and white rice are very similar – they both convince your body to store excess fat. Always go for the brown rice products if at all possible. They contain large amounts of fiber and vitamins which allow you to feel full for a lot longer overall.
Make a List And Stick to it!
These are the first foods I would consider when it comes to what not to eat while dieting. There are many, many more but common sense should come into play and keep you away from them: For example don’t eat bacon and eggs every morning, don’t eat ice cream every day, keep away from chocolate…..you get the picture right?
Once you have created your danger list MAKE SURE YOU STICK TO IT!!! A little slip here and there is fine but don’t slide back into bad habits – your diet will suffer!
